YOUTH SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT
In September, November, and January, the YSA hosted the Youth Sustainability Summit, a series of youth conferences to engage youth in shaping a sustainable future. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Mubadala, the YSA brought together 15 schools and 150 student leaders across various continents. Participants delved into panels, workshops, and project planning sessions, following the COP28 framework. Together, we activated a new generation of sustainability advocates and launched post-event activities to turn ideas into action.
INTERNATIONAL TECH-DRIVE
Partnering with Thaki NGO, we're hosting drives in June/July and September across Abu Dhabi, Seoul, San Francisco, and Orange County. Expect affordable shipping costs and a significant impact, with all branches participating in September's drive.
BEACH CLEAN-UPS AND MANGROVE CONSERVATION
Get hands-on in preserving the Han River in Seoul and Saadiyat Beach in Abu Dhabi. Join us on April 27th for Turtle Watch and on May 4th for a night kayak expedition to explore mangrove ecosystems and their role in climate change mitigation.
FOOD AND PLASTIC WASTE MANAGEMENT
In Seoul, Abu Dhabi, and Canada, we're proposing initiatives to tackle food and plastic waste in schools, with plans to extend these efforts post-Summit to partnering schools. Let's make a sustainable difference in waste management.
ART FOR CONSERVATION
Join us in Roots & Shoots initiatives and the creation of a children's book focusing on environmental conservation. With endorsements in progress, let's spread the message through art.
CLOTHING DRIVE
Collaborating with the Red Crescent Club, we're organizing drives in June and September to collect clothing for those in need. Join us in giving back to the community sustainably.
PROFESSIONAL RESEARCH
Led a data-driven investigation into the water quality of the Han River, Seoul's main water source. Processed and analyzed a decade of environmental data using advanced statistical methods (Principal Component Analysis, Factor Analysis). Successfully identified and quantified the impact of five major pollution factors, from hydrological conditions to urban population pressure. (Submitted to JKWRA)
